JUST FOR KICKS. (2005)
This documentary came out in 2005, and was the public’s first real look into this niche culture that many of us hold so close to our hearts. The early 2000’s was such an epic time for sneakers, including timeless collaborations, an onslaught of Retro’s, and the beginning of Brands actually buying into the fact that these were more than just sneakers to us. This was the first documentary of its kind, highlighting so many important facets of the sneaker culture that are so often overlooked nowadays. I was lucky enough to find this full version online and hope it can bring the same excitement and insight that it brought me when I first watched it in 2005.
It is also currently available on netflix. Shouts to the homie SoleDeVida for reminding me about how awesome this documentary was.
